Cali Exposhow began this Tuesday, October 22nd in Cali Colombia, and last night´s international guest of honour was Nicole Miller. The American designer opened her label in 1986 and has over 20 boutiques in the Unites States and worldwide. Her pieces are sold in various high end stores, and she has collaborated with giants such as Target, and Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Her style is based on large and bright prints, and patterns. Her construction comes from a classic Parisian training and a modernist American aesthetic. She is known to be inspired by all forms of art and different cultures. The designer mixes her taste for feminine and form-flattering clothing with bold colours, and contemporary fabrics, making her pieces unique, and known to have the perfect balance between sexy and classic.

La diseñadora Americana empezó su marca en 1986 y ahora tiene mas de 20 boutiques en Estados Unidos y en el mundo. Sus piezas son vendidas en tiendas de alta calidad, y ha colaborado con gigantes como Target, y Bed, Bath and Beyond.
El estilo de la marca es basado en grandes y llamativos estampados. Su modo de construcción viene de una mezcla de la formación clásica que la diseñadora aprendió en Paris y su estética Americana moderna. Es inspirada por toda clase de arte y culturas diferentes. Miller integra su gusto por la feminidad y la ropa al cuerpo, con colores vivos, y telas contemporáneas; haciendo sus piezas muy originales y un balance perfecto entre lo sexy y lo clásico.
Last night Miller gave Cali a treat by showing some of her most beautiful and most popular vintage pieces. The looks she showed have been worn by celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Naomi Campbell, Heather Graham and Helena Christensen, among others. This mini fashion show was a tribute to many of her inspirations such as: Antoni Gaudi, the pop art culture, and her various trips around the world. The runway had a background full of pictures of the numerous celebrities who have worn each of her pieces, and as the models walked down the runway wearing these exclusive creations, the attendees saw the history of her trajectory. The audience was pleasantly surprised by the diversity of her designs.

Este mini desfile de modas fue un tributo a sus varias inspiraciones como: Antoni Gaudi, la cultura de pop art, y sus varios viajes a diferentes países. La pasarela tuvo un fondo de fotos de muchas celebridades quienes han portado sus piezas, y el publico pudo ver la historia de su trayectoria mientras las modelos desfilaban estas exclusivas creaciones. La audiencia fue gratamente sorprendida por la diversidad de sus diseños.

Her Spring/Summer 2014 collection, which she showed in New York in September, was shown subsequently to her small tribute show. This collection was said to be inspired by the Palace of Versailles and its´gardens. The looks are composed of various different pieces such as, pencil skirts, skinny pants, party dresses, vests, jackets and more. A lot of prints she used were busy bright and floral, but these were toned down and paired with basic tones like black, white, and beige. The very girly collection, was given a touch of youthfulness by certain details in her styling like flat booties, black outerwear, and rips in the skinny pants. The Colombian models walked down to the rhythm of ¨Girls Just Wanna Have Fun¨.

Su colección de Primavera/Verano 2014, que mostró en Nueva York en Septiembre, fue exhibida posteriormente al pequeño tributo. Esta colección ha dicho ser inspirada por el Palacio de Versailles y sus hermosos jardines. Los looks son compuestos de varias prendas diferentes como, faldas rectas, pantalones bota tubo, vestidos de fiesta, chalecos, chaquetas y mas. Uso muchos estampados fuertes, y floreados, pero estos fueron suavizados siendo emparejados con tonos básicos como negro, blanco y beige. La muy femenina colección, fue dada un toque de juventud por detalles en el styling como botas sin tacon, prendas exteriores negras, y rotos en los pantalones bota tubo. Las modelos Colombianas caminaron la pasarela al ritmo de ¨Girls Just Wanna Have Fun¨.
